Happy Birthday Jesus!

It's important to us that our boys know the true meaning of Christmas. So, we decided to make Jesus a birthday cake. All was going well until Jarett asked how we could fit that many candles on the cake! And, I have to admit....the writing didn't look so great but Jarett made me feel better by saying, "It's okay mommy, Jesus will still like it!" The boys singing Happy birthday to Jesus!!!!!

Christmas Pics

I love, love, love the pics my mom took of the boys for Christmas this year! I had SUCH a hard time deciding which one to use for the Christmas card! One Sat afternoon we begged Brian to dress up as Santa, we transformed my living room into a temporary studio and PLAYED! These are what we got!!!!

First Snow Winter 2009

Camping Trip

We went camping last weekend for what is probably the last camping trip of the season. Even with a travel trailer, below freezing is just stinkin' cold! We had a great time though, as usual. And yes, it's true, my baby is now riding by himself! I don't think I breathe the whole time he's on there but so far he's doing great. Just one little accident of riding forward and looking backward! And, just like Mama, he prefers to ride in his flip flops.....he's definitely my boy! Jarett huntin' wabbits.......or rocks or bushes!

Following Daddy......we love to go on long rides together. Jarett prefers to ride the four wheeler on the long rides instead of his dirt bike even though the 4 wheeler is getting too small for him.

Halloween 2009

We had so much fun this Halloween. The boys had a BLAST trick-or-treating this year! Every house we went to Jake would say "Just one more mommy?" Jarett as an army Ninja

Arrrrgh Matey! Jake actually said that at one house instead of "trick or treat." The people thought that was too hilarious!

This is the boys ringing the doorbell at Nana's house. I wish I could have seen Jake's face as she opened the door dressed as a witch. She said his smile left the instant he saw her! How fun of her to be dressed up for them though!

Pumpkin carving the night before Halloween.....Jarett is now a pro at this. He did his whole pumpkin almost completely by himself!

This, on the other hand, was Jake's reaction when asked to reach inside the pumpkin! He wanted NOTHING to do with the gooey stuff!

Pumpkin Patch

Well, with everyone's crazy schedules this year we didn't get a chance to go to the real pumpkin patch and take great pics. So, we improvised with one of the local pumpkin patches and I took the pics. They aren't as good as mom's but at least we have something! And, my love for pumpkins has rubbed off on Jake! Thankgoodness! Someone who loves them as much as I do and doesn't think I'm crazy!

Sometimes I try to let Jake skip his nap if we are busy having fun....but this is usually what happens!

I love this pic of Jarett in the corn maize! His class went on a fieldtrip to a pumpkin patch that had lots of fun stuff to do and I got to go along and help!....you know me.....if it has to do with pumpkins, I want to go!!!!

Cold Wintery Days

This is what our house looks like on cold days. Jake loves to line up his toys. And, when the boys are happy.....mama's happy!

Big Accomplishments

Had I known that teaching Jake to pedal his bike would mean sitting outside with him in the freezing cold, I probably would have waited a while. We finally got smart and brought it inside. Now he just rides circles in the living room and kitchen! But, he's busy and I'm warm!!!
Jarett has some exciting news too! He got his report card Tues and made straight A's! We are so proud of him! He also lost tooth #8 today (#7 was only 2 weeks ago!) so he's keeping the tooth fairy busy!

Jake's birthday party

The day finally came!!!!! Little Jake has been anxiously waiting for his birthday party ever since we had Jarett's the end of July. He's been asking if I can give him a birthday too!!!! He was thrilled to be the birthday boy! Unlike his brother, he loves to be the center of attention!
